It isn’t hard to see how some people may not mind the 4400 being locked up and experimented on. The video and press that have already made it to the general public have sown seeds of discord. While Mildred and Hayden are the vehicle for getting to YPSI Medical, and behind the chartreuse door, it is the facility behind the hospital that is more illuminating. It is no wonder he would do anything to get Mildred back. The brief flashbacks we get of him in the 1930s with his mother also give us a bit more insight into what his story is, especially his distrust.
Hayden is the standout on “If You Love Something” with his determination for getting Mildred back driving the story. It’s somewhat fantastical, but given that these people are supposed to be extraordinary, it’s believable. Hayden’s visions, LaDonna’s illusions, and Shanice’s ability to see memories are all working in concert to give the returnees what they need. Part of why it works is because of the returnee’s abilities we’ve seen so far.
